My Platform
Seven clear commitments to the residents of North Frontenac Township. Click each pillar to read my full position, the problems I see, and the specific actions I will take.
Roads & Infrastructure
North Frontenac maintains 339 km of roads across a vast Shield landscape — 181 km paved, 158 km gravel. Too many are in poor condition, and repair priorities are not always clear to taxpayers. I will bring a data-driven, needs-based approach to road maintenance and capital planning.
Read full position →Fiscal Responsibility & Taxes
Residents on fixed incomes and rural families feel every tax increase acutely. Every dollar council spends must be justified, tracked, and reported publicly. I will push for a detailed annual spending report that every resident can actually read and understand.
Read full position →Transparency & Open Government
Too many decisions are made before residents even know there's a decision to be made. Council meetings should be accessible, decisions should be explained in plain language, and public consultation must be genuine — not a rubber stamp. I will champion open government from day one.
Read full position →Rural Economic Development
North Frontenac is tourism-dependent, Crown-land-heavy, and underserved by provincial investment. We need to work smarter — supporting existing local businesses, improving broadband connectivity, and attracting responsible development that fits our rural character.
Read full position →Environmental Stewardship
Our lakes, wetlands, forests, and Canadian Shield landscape are what make North Frontenac worth living in — and worth visiting. Protecting them isn't at odds with development; it's the foundation of our economy. I will ensure environmental considerations are central to all planning decisions.
Read full position →Community Services & Seniors
North Frontenac has a growing senior population and limited local services. Transportation, healthcare access, recreation, and community gathering spaces matter enormously to residents who can't easily drive to Kingston for every need. I will advocate loudly for services that keep people in their communities.
Read full position →Short-Term Rentals & Planning
Platforms like Airbnb have changed the character of cottage communities. Long-term rentals are scarcer. Neighbours have legitimate concerns about noise, parking, and safety. At the same time, property owners have rights. I will work toward a fair, enforceable short-term rental framework that works for everyone.
