"Protect the lakes, forests, and Shield landscape that make North Frontenac worth living in"
Our lakes, wetlands, forests, and Canadian Shield landscape are what make North Frontenac what it is. They're also the foundation of our tourism economy. Every property on a lake knows this and knows what it looks like when shorelines are eroded, septic systems fail, or dust from gravel roads ends up in the water.
The 2025 wildfire season was a reminder that our rural landscape also comes with real risk. We are not immune to climate-driven changes, and our emergency preparedness needs to reflect that.
Protecting our environment isn't at odds with economic development it's the foundation of it. Stronger shoreline and septic rules protect the lakes that attract visitors and support property values. Wildfire preparedness protects lives and homes. Eco-friendly approaches to road maintenance protect the water we drink and swim in.
I'll also push for resident involvement in any decisions about energy projects including solar, battery storage, or other initiatives so that the environmental trade-offs are assessed openly and community input shapes the outcome.
